This Privacy Policy explains how PDFtez ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use our website www.pdftez.com and the tools provided on it.
1. The short version
- Our in-browser tools (such as Merge PDF) process your files entirely on your device. Your PDFs are never uploaded to our servers.
- We do not require you to sign up or provide personal information to use our tools.
- We use privacy-friendly analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) that do not use cookies and do not track individual users.
- Some links on our site open third-party tools (e.g. iLovePDF) in a new tab. Once you leave our site, the third party's privacy policy applies.
2. Information we collect
a. Information you provide
We do not ask for your name, email or any account information to use the tools. If you contact us by email, we will receive your email address and the content of your message.
b. Files you process
Files processed by our in-browser tools stay on your device. They are read into your browser's memory, processed locally, and the output is offered to you as a download. No copy of your files is transmitted to or stored by PDFtez.
c. Automatically collected information
When you visit the site, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) and our analytics tool may record technical information such as your approximate location (country/region), browser type, device type, pages visited, referring site, and aggregate traffic patterns. This is used to understand site performance and improve the product. No cookies are set for tracking purposes.
3. Third-party tools
Some tools on our site link to third-party services (such as iLovePDF) that run on their own servers. When you click those tools, you will be taken to the third party's website in a new tab. We do not control, and are not responsible for, those services. Please review the relevant third party's privacy policy before uploading any files.
4. How we use information
- To operate, maintain and improve the website.
- To understand aggregate usage and traffic patterns.
- To respond to you if you contact us.
- To detect and prevent abuse or security issues.
5. Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not store the files you process with in-browser tools — there is nothing for us to retain. Aggregate analytics data is retained by our analytics provider for a limited period according to their policy.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU GDPR, the UK GDPR, the California CCPA, or India's DPDP Act 2023), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, or to object to certain processing. 8. Children
The website is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Security
We use HTTPS across the site and rely on reputable hosting infrastructure. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the site after any change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
