This Privacy Policy explains how PDFtez ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use our website www.pdftez.com and the tools provided on it.

We do not ask for your name, email or any account information to use the tools. If you contact us by email, we will receive your email address and the content of your message.

b. Files you process with in-browser tools

Files processed by our in-browser tools stay on your device. They are read into your browser's memory, processed locally by JavaScript, and the result is offered to you as a download. No copy of your files is transmitted to or stored by PDFtez.

c. Files you process with Office conversion tools

Converting between Microsoft Office formats (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and PDF cannot be done reliably inside a browser, so those tools — Word to PDF, PDF to Word, Excel to PDF, PDF to Excel, PowerPoint to PDF, PDF to PowerPoint — run on a server. When you use one of these tools:

d. Automatically collected information & analytics

When you visit the site, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes technical information such as your IP address, request metadata and security signals to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

We use web analytics to understand aggregate site traffic — visit counts, popular pages, referring sources, approximate location (country/region), browser and device type, and traffic patterns. Depending on the analytics provider in use at the time, this may include products such as Cloudflare Web Analytics (which does not use cookies and does not track individual users) and/or Google Analytics (which does use cookies to measure aggregate traffic). The analytics we run is used to operate and improve the site, not to build advertising profiles. If you would prefer not to be measured by Google Analytics, you can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on; for cookie-based analytics generally, your browser's "block third-party cookies" setting also works.

Our pages may link to third-party services such as CloudConvert, Cloudflare, or email providers. When you click those links, you leave PDFtez and the third party's privacy policy applies.

PDFtez is funded by advertising served through Google AdSense. To deliver and measure those ads, AdSense and its certified ad-technology partners may:

Files you upload, drop, or process with PDFtez are never shared with Google or used for advertising. Ad selection is based on the URL of the page you are viewing and (if applicable) Google's general advertising profile of your browser — not on the contents of your documents.

How to control ad personalisation:

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another region where consent for advertising cookies is required, PDFtez relies on Google's certified consent solutions to obtain and record your consent where applicable.

We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or property of PDFtez or our users.

We do not store the files you process with in-browser tools — there is nothing for us to retain. For server-side Office conversions, the file exists only transiently on CloudConvert's infrastructure for the duration of the conversion and is deleted shortly afterwards by the provider. Aggregate analytics data is retained by the analytics provider in use according to their default retention policy (Google Analytics defaults to 14 months; Cloudflare Web Analytics retains rolling aggregates only). Advertising-related cookies are retained according to Google's own policies.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU GDPR, the UK GDPR, the California CCPA, or India's DPDP Act 2023), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, or to object to certain processing. Because we generally do not hold personal data about visitors, most of these rights will not be applicable. Where they are, you can exercise them by emailing us at hello@pdftez.com.

The website is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Security

We use HTTPS across the site and rely on reputable hosting infrastructure. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the site after any change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
