Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the PDFtez website at www.pdftez.com and the tools provided on it (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. The Service

PDFtez provides a collection of free PDF utilities. Some tools run entirely in your web browser, with no files leaving your device. Other tools — specifically our Microsoft Office conversion tools (Word, Excel and PowerPoint to/from PDF) — rely on a third-party conversion provider (CloudConvert) and require your file to be uploaded over HTTPS for processing. See our Privacy Policy for details. We may add, change or remove tools at any time without notice.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the equivalent minimum age in your country) to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. Your content and files

You retain all rights to the files you process using the Service. Our in-browser tools do not upload your files to our servers. Our Office conversion tools upload your file over HTTPS to our conversion provider (CloudConvert) for processing only, and the provider deletes the file shortly after the conversion completes. You are solely responsible for the files you process and must only process files that you own or have the right to use. You are responsible for deciding whether the content of your files is appropriate to be sent to a server-side conversion provider.

You agree not to use the Service to process content that is illegal, infringes third-party rights, contains malware, or is otherwise harmful.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law;
• Attempt to interfere with, damage, overload or gain unauthorized access to the Service or related systems;
• Reverse engineer, decompile or scrape the Service, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law;
• Resell, rebrand or redistribute the Service as your own without our written permission;
• Remove or alter any copyright, trademark or other proprietary notices.

5. Third-party providers and links

The Service may link to third-party websites that are not operated by us. We also rely on CloudConvert (Lunaweb Ltd) to perform Office↔PDF conversions on our behalf. We do not endorse and are not responsible for third parties, their content, or their handling of your files beyond our reasonable selection of a reputable provider. Your use of any third-party service is governed by that third party's terms and privacy policy.

6. Intellectual property

The PDFtez name, logo, website design and code are the property of PDFtez or its licensors, and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Except for the limited right to use the Service, no rights are granted to you.

7. No warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, uninterrupted availability, or error-free operation.

You are responsible for keeping copies of your original files. We do not guarantee that any output produced by the Service will be complete, accurate or suitable for your purposes.

8. No professional advice

The Service is a general document utility. It does not provide legal, financial, tax, compliance, security or professional advice. You are responsible for reviewing output files and deciding whether they are suitable for your intended use, including legal, regulatory, contractual or official filing purposes.

9. Tool-specific limitations

Some tools have special limitations. The Sign PDF tool creates a visual signature only and does not create a cryptographic digital signature or guarantee legal enforceability. The Redact PDF tool is designed to flatten redacted pages, but you remain responsible for checking the output before sharing it. The Protect PDF tool depends on the PDF encryption features available in your browser and should not be treated as a substitute for broader security controls.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PDFtez and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any and all claims arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed INR 1,000 (one thousand Indian rupees) or the equivalent in your local currency.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PDFtez and its operators from any claim, demand, loss or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or any applicable law.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, including if we believe you have violated these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after any change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India.
